I haven't the time to sit at my computer and put my thoughts down like I would like, so I just spend the little time I have reading my favorite blogs and occasionally leave a little comment here and there. But now, On the eve of an extremely important election, I feel the need to express to anyone whom may come across this blog to exercise your right and vote. As well as pray!

Personally, my vote is for McCain for the simple reason that he is first and formost a real patriot, who has the experience and fortitude to run the country in a time when those characteristics are needed now more than ever. Even though he has gone out of his way to show himself to be a little to "bipartisan" on important issues, he has convinced me that he can do an adequate job of both strengthen our economy as well as our national security. Obama, unlike McCain has no record to run on. And what is more troubling is his much publicized past associations with radicals that hate America. That alone should throw up a red flag in front of those who are considering him for President!

So in short, the choice is yours. Two very different men with very different visions on how to run your country. Your vote matters.

The "Hush Rush" Campaign

Time to silence the Conservatives and Christians!

Now that the Democrats have regain power in Congress, they are once again pushing the so-called Fairness Doctrine, which is legislation that would force the national broadcasters like Limbaugh, Dr. Dobson, and Hannity to make time to hear both sides of an issue.

I listen to Rush and Christian radio broadcastings daily. The Democrats have tried their best to compete with the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity and they have failed miserably. So it appears that their next move is to force national broadcasters (conservative) to allow opposing (liberal) view points. Believe me, if the Democrats were the ones leading the way in talk radio, there would be no "fairness" doctrine to speak of.

I can't tell you how much this TICKS ME OFF! ...Sore Losers!

Here's more; http://www.citizenlink.org/CLtopstories/A000003652.cfm

Poll: 56% of Americans Believe Media Coverage in Iraq 'Inaccurate'

From Editor&Publisher

January 04

New York : A new Gallup poll released today reveals that most Americans -some 56%- believe that the news media's coverage of the war in Iraq is generally "inaccurate."

But in what way? Of those who feel that coverage has been inaccurate, 61% feel it has painted too negative a picture there, while 36% say it has pictured it as too positive.

That means that overall, about one-third of Americans believe that the news media presents too negative a picture of what is happening in Iraq; one out of five believe that the news media presents too positive a picture, and the rest say that the news media coverage is about right or have no opinion.

Looking at the partisan divide, Gallup explains: "Two-thirds of Republicans believe that the news media's coverage of Iraq is both inaccurate and makes the situation there appear worse. Only one-quarter say that the news media coverage is accurate.

"On the other hand, a majority of Democrats (55%) say that the news media coverage of the situation there is accurate, with most of the rest saying that it is inaccurate and biased toward making the situation there appear better than it really is. Independents' views on the issue are between the two extremes of the Republicans and Democrats.

I'm not surprised at this finding. Most people realize that the media has always been more interested in showing the destructive side of war, rather than the positive side. Rarely, can I pick up my local paper and see a "positive" headliner on the war in Iraq. Usually, the front page is totally negative.

I can not accept the line of thinking that says that after three years of U.S occupation, we have accomplished NOTHING more than a collection of "road-side, bombed-out" vehicles, and flag-draped coffins of dead American soldiers and Iraqi citizens. We must have accomplished something good while in Iraq, but you would never know it by watching your daily news coverage.

Let's see what happens with more troops on the way?

Happy New Year Everybody!

Time to start dieting...

Hope that everybody has a blessed 07'.

Have A Merry Christmas Everybody!

I truly hope and pray that everyone who comes in contact with my blog will have the best Christmas ever this year.

Here are just a few things to remember on Christmas day;

When opening the presents, it's the thought that counts. Try to be a little more tolerant when visiting the inlaws, stay awhile, don't leave too early, that will look too obvious. Save the bows. Sing a few Christmas songs. Watch "It's A wonderful Life" on TV. Buy plenty of batteries for the toys. And finally, be sure to remember those who have lost loved ones this year. And those who are away from home fighting for freedom in foreign lands.

Did I leave anything out?

To: Everybody
From: Ron

Merry Christmas!

Colson Supports McCain's Iraq War Strategy

Chairman of BreakPoint Prison Ministries Chuck Colson, an former Nixon Aide, has stated recently that he agrees with Sen John McCain's proposal of sending additional troops to Iraq. Scott Rrall believes many are searching for salvation.

On a recent evening, as disco music blared out of an aerobics room down the hall, Reall led a small group in prayer. Heads bowed, hands clasped, about a dozen men and woman sang "Amazing Grace." They had come to the YMCA-some in pearls, some in tank tops-to share their stuggles with depression, and their hope that Christ would pull them through.

"People come to the YMCA hurting," said Reall, who gave up his work as a fitness trainer to run a Christian ministry at Green Hills Y. "alcoholism, bulimia, divorce, grief, pornography addiction, loneliness, drug abuse...They're looking for so much more than exercise."

Reall is at the vanguard of a small but growing movement to bring Christ back into the Young Men's Christian Assn. About 13% of the more than 2,600 YMCA branches across the country have set up special committees to promote Christianity. Hundreds of Y leaders convene each year to swap ideas on how to "lift up the C in the YMCA."

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-ymca24nov24,0,214217,full.story?coll=la-home-headlines

About once a week I make deliveries to a local YMCA. As soon as you walk in the door, you will see posters and literature on the walls and counter tops offering help and encouragement to anyone in need. As you continue to walk through the complex, you get the feeling that the people who work or workout here are just normal people looking to better their lives. You don't see the massive egos associated with your "high dollar" fitness clubs. These are people of all ages looking for a simple place to exercise or workout and just be healthy... like my Dad occasionally does.

I absolutely love seeing Christian based organizations like the Salvation Army and the YMCA return to their Christian roots. I hope that more historic organizations like the Y will make the same types of changes that will impact society for Christ like they were initially created to do so long ago.

Study Claims Conservatives More Generous

Authur C. I grew up watching my parents giving not only their money, but also their time and efforts to charitable activities. I guess that's mainly why I'm a conservative thinker today. I've witness the benefits of serving others, the satisfaction that comes from giving. So when President Bush talks about "compassionate conservatism", I get it!

Sadly, society today is drifting further and further away from the traditional family unit in which I believe is the foundation of this great country.

Interesting article. Some have called him the next Billy Graham because of his growing international popularity.

Needless to say, Pastor Rick has infuriated many Christians in the States with his visit to Syria. I don't believe anybody expects Syria to do nothing less than roll out the red carpet for a man such as Warren. I understand "why" Warren made the visit but I sincerely hope that Pastor Warren is smart enough to see through all the "pomp and circumstance" that came with his arrival. I also hope that Warren made it clear that Peace with Syria means Syria must stop supplying and supporting terrorist activities in the region.

If 80% of Americans don't like how the war in Iraq is going, it is because the war is being complicated by the constant insurgency coming from Syria as well as Iran.

I don't have a problem with religious leaders meeting with world leaders, like Billy Graham does. But I do have a problem when these visits are being portrayed or used as "anti-American" propaganda.

Portion of Pastor Warren's letter to Saddleback

"In hindsight, I wish we'd been better prepared for our visit to Syria. We would have handled some meetings differently, watching our words more closely, and been more aware of the agenda of their state press..."

"...As we left, the official state-controlled Syrian news agency issued some press releases that sounded like I was a politician negotiating the Iraq war by praising the Syrian President and everything else in Syria! Of course, that's rediculous, but it created a stir among bloggers who tend to editorialize before verifying the truth. Does it seem ironic to you that people who distrust Syria are now believing Syriain press releases?"

Go Vote!

It is our duty as American citizens to vote. Please take the time today to do it.

I'm a conservative registered Republican which means that I usually vote down the party line, unless of course, a Democrat or Independent running thinks like a conservative...which is rare.

The Republicans have an agenda that I believe both strengthens our national security and economy. The Democrats plan is to raise our taxes and immediately start withdrawing our troops from Iraq, which I know is a sore spot with both Democrats and Republicans...I see the poll numbers. As much as I hate to see our troops in the Middle East, I believe that we should stay in Iraq until the newly elected government has time to establish their own economic structure and national security. Timing is everything.

Also, some very important federal court seats will need to be filled. I want judges that rule by OUR Constitution, not Europe's.

For me, these reasons are enough to take a few minutes Tuesday to drive my lazy butt to the polling place and vote. Don't stay home and be apathetic. Haggard has been accused of having sexual relations and buying meth from a male escort. Today, Haggard has formally resigned his position from the 15,000 member church New Life Church in Colorado Springs, CO.

I have somewhat of a connection to Haggard so this horrible news really makes me sad. Ted Haggard, in the early 80's used to be a youth pastor at one of the local churches just outside of Baton Rouge. He was a very dynamic pastor with a real vision and heart for young people. In just a few short years, he reached hundreds of kids for Christ including my sister. And if my memory serves me correctly, he left BR to build the church he has just resigned from in Colorado Springs.

Needless to say, all of us who knew Pastor Ted are in shock and heart broken. Christians should never take pleasure in seeing the fall of a Christian leader. We should be praying and believing for his total and complete restoration. Not simply throwing him out with the trash. I know that there are conflicting testimonies about what actually went on between Ted and the escort, but the damage has been done and he will need the church now more than ever.

I have seen many evangelist, pastors, and priest fall throughout my 20 years of being a Christian. Not one time did I ever questioned my faith or belief in Christ or His church. I know that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and that I am saved only by grace. People continue to attend or support the church because the church was and is established by God, not man!

I mentioned in a previous post about the importance of living a 'blameless' life as a leader. I can't think of a better example of the consequences.

Are You A Internet Addict?

From Breitbart.com

Researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine in Silicon Valley said their telephone survey indicated more than one of every eight US residents showed at least one sign of "problematic Internet use".

The findings backed those of previous, less rigorous studies, according to Stanford.
Most disturbing was the discovery that some people hid their internet surfing, or went online to cure foul moods in ways that mirrored alcoholics using booze, according to the studies lead author, Elias Aboujaoude.

"In a sense, they're using the Internet to self-medicate," Aboujaoude said. "And obviously something is wrong when people go out of their way to hide their Internet Activity".

According to preliminary research, the typical Internet addict was a single, college-educated, white male in his 30's, who spends approximately 30 hours a week on non-essential computer use.

So, how about you guys? Anybody need to go to IA (Internet Anonymous)? Seriously, I can understand being addicted to things that make you feel good, but do we always have to label every habitual behavior, or routine as an addiction? Like it's some kind of a disease? If alcoholism is a "disease", I guess the same can be said for those who can't turn the computer off.

For me, I may spend an hour or so surfing the net depending on how late it is, then I've had enough. Of course, I enjoy surfing the blogs but that's about it. I get bored and start watching the TV, or reading a good book. But I know that there are times when the net can be a distraction from my troubles, but I don't see it becoming an issue or a problem. I guess that makes me a "social net surfer".

Blameless

As everybody knows by now, Rep. Mark Foley has been under fire for having IM sex with one or more congressional pages. He has resign his congressional seat. He has also confessed that he is gay and that he has admitted himself to a detox clinic to deal with his addiction to alcohol. That should be enough to satisfy the Democratic party and those in the main stream media who will do anything to see George Bush and the Republican Party lose control of the White House, but it's not!

I didn't really want to write on this topic but everywhere you turn you get this daily barrage of garbage thrown in your face. Let's face it, it's that time of year...election time! People who follow politics will probably see the worse, most nasty, lowdown fights that they have ever witnessed before.

The upside in all of these political attacks is that maybe more men and women who lack character and integrity will not be running in future elections. The downside of these attacks is that maybe more men and women who POSSESS character and integrity will not be running in future elections. Who in their right mind wants to put their families through this kind of daily scrutiny?

God commands those who are appointed to leadership positions to lead "blameless" lives (Titus 1:6-9). Now more than ever, we need people who will stand up for what is right and live the kind of wholesome healthy lifestyles that encourages others to live. Good role models are severely lacking today. Years ago teachers, pastors and parents were role models, now it athletes and artist.

Sadly, politicians have always had a reputation of being crooked and dishonest. I guess the main stream media wouldn't have it any other way...great for ratings and their cause.

Sorry about the blogging layoff, i've been tired and busy. I am sick and tired of watching these wicked, evil dictators stand before the world, cursing my President and country without ever having to give account for their statements or actions in their homeland. Not one reporter has questioned President Ahmadinejad's statements concerning his desired destruction of Israel and America. Hugo Chavez, dictator of Venezuela, spoke today and proceeded to called President Bush...the Devil, followed by cheering and applauding from the essembly! This wasn't Louis Farrahkan speaking, this was a leader of a country!

If the U.N. is going to be used as a platform for bashing America than the leadership of America needs to demand that the U.N. be moved to another location...like Antarctica.

Have you notice the alliances taking place between the Communist and Islamic states under the U.N. umbrella?

Folks, we really need to be in constant prayer for OUR country and it's leadership. We need wisdom from God on how to handle this onslaught of American hatred. Evil dictators everywhere are outwardly threatening our survival and we act like everything's fine! A study published today at the University of Western Ontario found that men's IQ's on average are higher than woman's!!!!!

Psychologist, John Philippe Rushton studied 100,000 students ages 17&18 of both sexes. His study (NOT MINE) showed that on average men's IQ was 3.63 higher than women! This overturns the 100 year old thinking that men and women's IQ on average are the same.

He goes on to say that the reason he believes there is a difference in the IQ's, is due to the size of the brains. Men have bigger heads which means that their are more neutrons in mens brain than woman. Girls mature faster than boys which means they excel sooner than boys, but the boys eventually catch up.

Sorry, my dear lady friends. I know that must come as a shock to ya'll, but the facts don't lie! We men are smarter than we look. The former Clinton Administration has been up in arms about the facts concerning the way the mini-series has depicted the Administration's mis-opportunities in capturing Osama Bin Laden. President Clinton himself has been putting extreme pressure on Bob Iger, CEO of Disney to cancel the series all together.

Well, after some "slight" editing, ABC has decided to broadcast the series commercial free beginning tonight. Football is in full swing and I'm glad tomorrow is Labor Day! If Saturday is any indication, I'm in for a very busy and stressful year of football.

Saturday morning started with my nephew's season opener. We won in a very close and hard fought game that went down to the wire! So after popping a couple of Tylonal's, I ran home and took a quick shower and headed off to the LSU game. I left my house that morning at 8:00am and I didn't get home until 11:30pm that night. Don't get me wrong! I'm havin' a blast.

The downer is that I don't know how much time I will be able to devote in updating my blog. (Not that I was consistent to begin with.) But I'm finding out that football is taking up most of my free time, coaching and all. Both are fine and in good health...Thank God!

A video produced prior to the release showed reporters Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig giving a statement, converting to the religion of Islam. Centanni said,"We were forced to convert to Islam at gun point". Wiig, a New Zealand citizen, gave an anti-Western speech.
One Israeli security official said "It is easier to save face within the terror community if you can claim your captives convert to Islam, so therefore you couldn't harm them"".

Abu Muhammed, member of the Dugmash Family, based in Gaza City blasted Fox News claiming the media outlet is "controlled by Zionest lobby and Jews". The Dugmash clan is considered to be one of the groups behind the kidnappings.

For the last month or so, I've notice the advertisements of an organization known as the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews on the Fox News Channel. This is an non-profit organization founded in 1983 by rabbi Yechiel Eckstien. It's main mission is to unite Christian and Jews world wide. They assist in immigration, providing food, clothing, and medical assistance for orphans in the Soviet Union and around the world. And they help victims of terrorist attacks. Rabbi Eckstien works closely with American churches in encouraging support for the Jewish people around the world.

I believe that the Fox News Channel was targeted by this terrorist group because of its outward support for Israel's existence and it's fight against terrorism. Remember, Fox was not the only news outlet reporting from Gaza City at the time of the kidnappings.

Actors against Terrorism

Nicole Kidman and Host of Other Hollywood Actors and Directors Make public Stand against Terrorism

Australia's Harald-Sun reports that actress Nicole Kidman has made a public stand against Terrorism.

Breaking Christian News.com
According to the article, the actress joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper, specifically targeting "terrorist Organizations," such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Hamas in Palestine.

"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die. Well if history is any indication, we will probably see more of the same. The only real difference we will see is more of a UN presence which means more UN lookout post to hide behind. Don't be fooled, the added UN forces will do nothing to keep the influx of weapons and troops from entering Lebanon through Syria. Remember, the northern Lebanon border is still unprotected. The UN troops being sent will be stationed on the southern border of Lebanon so there is nothing keeping Syria from shipping in more hardware...Unbelievable.

I do understand Israel's hesitancy in moving further north into Lebanon. They fear losing huge numbers of troops. Plus they don't want to bring Syria and Iran into a conventional war without international assistance, if they can help it. But Israel backing off and agreeing to a cease-fire will only give Hezbollah and their supporters more confidence in their objective which is to destroy Israel. I've recently read where Hamas has been taking notice of how well Hezbollah has been conducting their attacks. Just yesterday a reporter was kidnapped in Gaza, a Hamas stronghold.

This cease-fire is nothing more than a pause, it is NOT a victory. Hezbollah and Israel can claim victory all they want. The bottom line is that the fighting is over only temporarily. Both sides will now have time to regroup and assess the damages, then unfortunately the next round begins.

Israel must show resolve in this fight. They have no choice.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, may those who love you be secure". Psalms 122:6

I'm Getting Old

As some of you know, I'm a assistant coach for one of my nephew's youth tackle football team. I recently found out out the hard way that I don't have the "moves" I used to have when I was a young buck. I'm sure some of you guys can relate. We men tend to think that even though we may be getting old and fat, we still think that we possess the ability to do the things we used to do back when we were young and in shape...Wrong!

Two days ago, while I was running through some defensive back drills with the kids, I felt and heard a "POP" in the middle of my left calf muscle. David, the teams head coach even heard it and he was more than fifteen yards away from me! It felt like somebody hit me in the leg with a baseball. I thought,"Unbelievable, now what do I do"? Thankfully, my sister Shelly was there watching from the side lines so she volunteered to drive my "Fred Sanford" walking self to a nearby med clinic.

Well three days later, I'm on crutches. I have an appointment to see an orthopedic doctor on Monday. My calf muscle is a little swollen but not discolored, and I also can put some pressure on it. I'm hoping and praying that this is not too serious because Ole' Ron needs two healthy legs to work. Plus, who in this day and age can afford to miss work?

So what's the lesson learned here guys? Stretch, Stretch, and Stretch!! You really have to take the time to stretch your body before you do ANY kind of exercise. Aging is a painful reality.

UPDATE
My leg will be fine. Some muscle tear but nothing serious...Thank God!

Joel Rosenberg, Novelist or Prophet

Anyone familiar with bible prophecy, knows or has heard of best selling author Joel C Rosenberg. Joel's best selling 'novels' include, The Last Jihad, The Last Days, The Ezekiel Option (I'm in the middle of reading this one), and The Copper Scroll. His books are so much in relation to current events that he has been dub by some in the media as a "modern day Nostradamus".

Here is a portion of his profile; "Joel previously served as a senior advisor to several U.S. and Israeli leaders, including Steve Forbes, Rush Limbaugh, former Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Natan Sharansky, and former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He has been interviewed on more than 300 radio and TV shows including ABC's "Nightline", CNN, CNN Headline News, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, The History Channel ..."

Needless to say, Joel has been a very busy man lately. Last year he was invited to a White House bible study group where he talked about current events and bible prophecy. He has stayed in touch with White House officials ever since. When asked about the discussions with WH officials, Joel was quoted as saying "I can't tell you that the people that I spoke with agree with me, or believe that prophecy can really help you understand what will happen next in the Middle East, but I'm not surprised that they're intrigued".

Now, I realize that there are those of you who get really nervous when the discussions about the crisis in the Middle East are seen through the eyes of bible prophecy. But let me just say for now that life "as we know it" will change. We Christians need to be on alert, guarding are hearts and minds from fears and doubts of the future.

I may post more on bible prophecy in the following weeks.
http://joelrosenberg.blogspot.com/

Gibson and Graham, anti-Jew?

So Mel Gibson (actor) gets pulled over for drunk driving. The police officers say that during his arrest, Gibson began to make remarks blaming the Jews for causing all the wars in the world.

Since then, Gibson has continually asked for forgiveness for making the statement, and the Jewish community for the most part has forgiven him. He has also admitted himself into a detox center in order to deal with his addiction to alcohol. To be honest, after all the persecution he received while producing the movie Passion of the Christ, I'm surprised he hasn't tried to commit suicide!

I remember a few years ago, listening to a recording of Rev.Billy Graham confessing the exact same thing Mel did on the infamous Nixon Tapes. And he was sober when he said it! I also remember afterwards Billy asking for forgiveness from the Jewish people, and the Jewish people in turn, forgiving him.

Look, I'm not going to make excuses for Mel's actions. What he has said is ridiculous and absurd. To me, they both have confessed their mistakes and have dealt with it appropriately. Both men have made their marks in life when it comes to doing something great for God.

I'm hoping and praying that Mel will make it through this ordeal, closer to his Savior than ever before.

CORRECTION: I went back to look up 'exactly' what Rev. Graham said about the Jews on the Nixon Tapes.
Graham stated to Nixon that the Jews were "taking over the media in America," and that they needed to be "stopped before they bring the country down the drain." Graham has said that he does not remember making those statements but he quickly issued an apology just the same.

Either way, both comments were viewed as anti-Semitic and both men have issued apologies.

Blogging Warriors

There are certain" local" bloggers that I wanted to highlight today. These are very special people who are either involved in very special work or in situations that requires special consideration and prayer.

Dean and Carole Turner are dear friends of mine who are in the process of adopting their second biracial child. They are a loving family who are fearlessly and faithfully taking steps to see that these babies have a chance at living in a environment that is filled with purpose and hope. If you would like to help, go to http://thewardrobeandthewhitetree.com

Shane Comeaux is a contractor who is based in Iraq. His work is essential in the war effort to win over the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people. I met him for the first time in person at church this weekend and I can tell you that he is a very gifted and talented young man. I would ask that you would keep him in your prayers while he is away. His site is at http://cajuntiger.blogspot.com

And lastly, their is George and Robin Waites. George was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December. He had been receiving treatment and showing signs of improvement until the doctors recently discovered that the cancer may have moved to his liver. They have two children and they are in dire need of prayer. He is only 41 years old. To find more about his journey, go to http://shadowofalmighty.blogspot.com/

Ancient Book of Psalms Found in Ireland

From Breaking Christian News.com

Irish archaeologists, on Tuesday, confirmed an incredible find by a construction worker who was digging up a bog near Ireland's midlands, last week, when "just beyond the bucket of the bulldozer, he spotted something".

Pat Wallace, director of the Nation Museum of Ireland, remarked, "This is really a miracle find. There's two sets of odds that make this discovery really way out. First of all, it's unlike that something this fragile could survive buried in a bog at all, and then for it to be unearthed and spotted before it was destroyed, is incalculably more amazing".

According to AOL News, The 20-page book of Psalms, dated back to the years 800-1000, and was found open to Psalm 83, in which God hears complaints of other nations' attempts to wipe out the name of Israel.

The discovery becomes even more miraculous with the fact that Jerusalem's Chief rabbinate, Monday, called for worldwide prayer on behalf of Israel, to begin on Tuesday; one of the text given to pray was Psalm 83.

Just a coincidence? Time and time again I remember seeing Israeli officials go in front of cameras "pleading" with the world for their assistance in reigning in terrorist groups whose main objective was the total destruction of Israel.
Israel has warned the world of the potential escalation of terror organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas for years and the US and other countries have just continually looked the other way believing that this was nothing more than a regional problem. Well 911 proved otherwise.

Up to this point in time, Israel has used incredible restraint in dealing with terrorist groups and terrorist sponsored nations. They have done more than any other country to try to live in peace with their neighbors, including giving up"land". What other country has conceded so much and gain so little in return?

Israel is once again at war. She has reached the point of no return. No more talking, no more conceding, and no more pleading for help. She is taking matters into her own hands as she should be. America should back Israel and be ready to help out when called upon.

"When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. People have there own opinions about how they think the country should be run or governed, especially when it comes to fighting wars.

It is no secret that there are certain media outlets, such as The New York Times, who do not support or believe in President Bush or his policies. In fact, I believe that there are those who actually hate the man! That's fine , but don't let your hatred for the President be used to put "our" country in more danger than it already is. That is crossing the line! I didn't like Clinton or his policies, but even if he were in charge I certainly would not want the press leaking out top secret information that would give the enemy the upper hand, especially in a time of war. And WE ARE AT WAR! Although it appears that the NYT thinks otherwise.

It seems to me that President Bush receives far to much blamed for the bad things that happen, and he receives little or no credit for all the good things that happen. How fair is that?

LSU Hires New Baseball Coach!

Paul Mainieri has just become the 25th head baseball coach at LSU. Former LSU baseball coach and now A.D. Skip Bertman went on a 3 week nationwide search to find a replacement for Smoke Laval who was fired after falling to make the regionals this year. This was the first year in 18 that the Tigers didn't make the regionals.

Following Skip's legacy ain't easy. 5 National Championships in 10 years!

What I find so cool is that LSU got a head coach from the "almighty" Notre Dame University. Unbelievable! Who would have thought that a "successful" head coach would leave ND to come to LSU? Not me.
Another cool fact is that he played baseball and met his future wife while attending LSU his freshmen year. He later transferred to Miami Dade JC so he could play for his dad who was the head baseball coach at that time.

Better to Give than Receive

Wow! First Bill Gates announces he is stepping down from Microsoft Corp to concentrate on his charity foundation. Then days later, Warren Buffett announces he is "GIVING" up to 37BILLION dollars in gifts. A portion will go directly to the Gates Foundation. Apparently Gates and Buffett have been good friends since they first met in1991.

Me thinks it's time to start a charity!

Webster's definition of charity: 1. Christian love for God and man. 2. act or feeling of generosity. 3. The giving of aid to the poor.

It does my heart good to see wealthy men like these realize the importance of" giving back" to society. They know that they have in their hands the ability and resources to make a difference in the world, and that there are more important things than just working to get wealthy.
Hopefully, this will cause all of us to be a little more giving and a little less acquiring.

Ann Coulter on the Radio

Ann Coulter was on a local radio station this week promoting her new book Godless. She was asked by one of the host if she went overboard in describing the four 911 widows as capitalizing on the deaths of their loved ones. She responded by stating that the Republicans in Congress and the Senate have way more "war" veterans than the Democrats do, yet you never here them use their experiences to bring attention to themselves like Murtha and Kerry continually do... Good point.

I'm not a big fan of Ann. Mainly, due to her personality. I think she makes very valid points at times but the way she expresses it just rubs me wrong. To me, she tends to go a little over the top when she debates those on the left. Kinda like the exact opposite of Franken.
But you got to respect her, she continues to stand her ground against daily ruthless attacks. She's a trooper! Maybe that's why she always seems so cranky on TV.

Must Read Books

I have just finished reading two incredible Christian books, "90 minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper and "23 minutes in Hell" by Bill Wiese. Two very different and real life stories of two very different and real destinations.

Don's car was crushed by a semi when it crossed into his lane. For 90 minutes he experienced the glories of heaven, until he was brought back to life by the prayer of a pastor who just so happen to be passing by that day.
Bill, while laying on his bed one night, found himself in a dark, putrid, rotten, prison cell sorrounded by terrorizing demons, who continually tortured him until the hand of God lifted him out.

Everybody is curious about the afterlife. These two books give a vivid picture, in detail, of what happens to you when you die. As you will see, both books appear to be "totally" scriptural.

My First Blog

Well, here goes nothing!
